December 2011

Here is my Christmas Story for this year. I thought Miss Mary would be a good name because Mary gave birth to Jesus.

In a town where everyone was so busy getting their houses and yards all decorated for Christmas, there was one person whose name was Mary. She was an elderly Woman thinking about making a lot of different kinds of Christmas treats. Such as her three layered cookies with different flavored fillings.
She was so busy that she almost forgot about all of the people whom she had written holiday letters to, saying will you please join me for a Christmas feast!! She asked if they could bring some of their favorite Christmas foods to share with everyone else.
She went right to work on decoating her house and yard. First of all she went to a place where they grow real live trees to sell at Christmas time. She pulled her car into a parking space which was the closest one that she could find. She ran into the area where all of the trees were and she started her search for the best one that she could buy. When she saw the people who worked there she asked them which tree will be a good one for me to have inside of my living room, please show me she asked in a really nice poilete way of asking them. One of the men said follow me and I will show you all of the trees that I would pick from! She was following him when all of a sudden she saw the tree that smelled really good and looked really healthy and she said please cut down this one for me to bring home. They used a lot of ropes to tie down the tree on top of her car. She started to drive away right after paying for the tree and said thanks for everything and have a Merry Christmas she said as she drove away to her house.
When she was driving up her driveway she saw her house was finished being decorated and she went up the stairs three at a time. That’s when she opened up the front door and the room lit up brightly. All of the people she had invited over to her house, plus some of their friends who came for the Christmas feast were there!!
This includes a roast and cooked potatoes and cooked chicken and a lot of other goodies.  She walked into her house and said I need help with the BIG Christmas tree being put into the right place. Can anyone who’s strong help me out at this time?
Right after she had asked that question, at least 8 or more people started walking out to her car, where they untied the tree and started carrying it up into the front yard. They put her tree inside after they cut the entire bottom of the tree off. That’s when they discovered that the tree could go inside of the living room where everyone helped decorate her Christmas tree.
When they were finished with decorating the tree they stood around the tree and started singing a lot of Christmas songs. Everyone took turns picking out their favorite songs to sing to gather as a group of friends and family. Once everyone had eaten as much food as they could they sang around the Christmas tree. Then they unwrapped all of the books that she had made by hand. They smiled at each other and said how lucky we are to have known Miss Mary for so many years.
Then Miss Mary took over and asked everyone if they would like her to read Christmas stories to them as they started settling down and would they enjoy listening to them. Mary took her time reading to everyone. She was going to read the second Christmas book when she heard her doorbell ring and she went to answer it.
There stood the mail man. She silenced everyone from talking as the mail man brought her beautiful packaged boxes that came from different places around the world. After a long time passed she opened letters from a lot of people whose lives she had helped jest by putting together care packages with foods and good warm clothing and hats and scarfs to help them live healthier and more enjoyable lives.
The very next day one family sent big packages in the mail and they made up their minds to make a lot of helpful things to help her stay nice. They were warm things that they didn’t need any more along with some beautiful pieces of artwork that they had of spent a lot of time on making for her as a token of saying thank you for everything that have given to our family!!In a town where everyone was so busy getting their houses and yards all decorated for Christmas, there was one person whose name was Mary. This year, I have been experimenting with different media, like I sometimes paint on wood and I am exploring ways to use watercolors. I am 28 years old now and I have been an artist for a long time. I still get my inspirations from dreams and from seeing things in nature. Be sure to look at the Artwork page. You may find Christmas cards or paintings to buy from me!

Yvette at InterAct has really helped me to try new things and I will miss her when she leaves the Painter’s Nook there. During the Uniquinox, she took a picture of me wearing the gown I painted and the angel mask I made with a little help from Daniel.

My dad came all the way from Thailand and helped me out with one of my paintings and my sister Star let me use her loft again for the St Paul Art Crawl.

Other things that happened in 2011, are that I am an aunt again to Shaun Lawrence and and I have been teaching my 4 year old niece Katja how to paint – she loves painting murals with water colors. This summer I went to Camp Friendship again and our family spent time at a cabin. This photo is very similar to a painting I created after LEARNING TO KAYAK this summer. I kayaked all by myself to the other side of this peninsula. My mom and Star and my stepfather Cliff were amazed.

I have been using my creative side of thinking to paint on commission too! This is a photo of me sending a painting to Friendship Ventures of the climbing wall and one of the water fun day. You will have to visit Camp Friendship like I did if you want to see those paintings.

I also want to show you the turtles that some nice people in Arizona sent to me.
These turtles like to sunbathe in my garden.

Besides painting and gardening and working at my church and hanging out with my family and my friends, which includes taking care of my little niece, who will be a big sister next month, I am a Special Olympics athlete and a Global Messenger. If you have any events where you want a speaker to learn about how you can participate or help with many kinds of sports, my mentor Rene and I can come to your group. Call the Minnesota State Office at 612-333-0999 and ask if they can have me speak to your group.

Here are some very special things about myself. I was born in a hospital in Virginia, Minnesota on November 20, 1983. One day later, my mom and dad brought me from the hospital to live in a small house in the woods. I was the youngest of the three girls and we also had goats and chickens and two cats. I shall never forget the times my mom and I went for walks in the woods and picked the beautiful wild flowers.

When I was four, my parents were divorced. My mom and Amanda and Star and I all moved to an apartment in Roseville, Minnesota. When I was 5 years old I was very sick. My family thought I was going to die. I didn’t die. One night I woke up and said mommy mommy I thought I saw a fairy. That’s when the angels first came to me. I believe that my angels have helped my health to improve. Now I send my angels out into the world where people might need them.

I collect angel souvenirs and statues. I also collect turtles and rocks. Besides collecting I like to read. I also like to cook and bake food such as chicken noodle soup and apple crisp. I like to do crafts with my oldest sister Amanda. I like being in plays. I love to paint landscapes with sunrises and sunsets more than anything.  I also love to sing and my mom thinks I have the prettiest voice ever. When I’m in a sad mood I sing until I feel happy. Mostly what makes me unhappy is when I get headaches or I get sick. Sometimes my sister Star sings with me too and I really enjoy that a lot. My sister Star is so silly that I will always have fun with her.

I get to do lots of fun things. Like, once in a while I get to go and visit my dad up in the woods. My mom and I still go on walks and we read together. I also take walks with my dog Kingston who is a King Charles Cavalier English Spaniel. I am a responsible dog owner. Sometimes I go bowling with Star or my friend Christena or with Special Olympics friends. I have a very important job, which is cleaning at my church, and am I ever the lucky one because I get to listen to the church bells and organ when I clean.

If I could have one wish in the whole world it would be that I grow up healthy and become a famous artist. Debby Newman thought we should write a book about our memories. Here it is. I hope it brings happiness to your life. Eve
