New Year’s resolutions and Goals for my art and life in 2018
First, I will learn new techniques and try out new subjects for my drawing and painting.
- This includes more zen tangles, because they are like the stained glass water colors I do.
- I will try out pallet knives for acrylics.
- I am expanding from angels to include birds, because they both have wings and I want to learn how they help beings to fly!!!
I will share my findings with you through my art at this web site and maybe have a workshop at the Show Gallery in Lower Town St Paul. After I do a retreat with my friend Paula this winter, I will let you know about being alone in the quiet woods.
These are some of the highlights from 2017
In 2017, I had another very full year. This spring my sister Amanda and Shaun and Katarina joined us in Sarasota. We spent a lot of time at the beach! Trips included a big road trip with my sister Star and my mom. We went to Nashville where we listened country music at the Hall of Fame and heard live music too. Then we went through Alabama and to Florida’s panhandle where we saw a spoon billed rosetta who was fishing, and we stayed at Siesta Key where I found a few sharks’ teeth and saw sunsets that reminded me why I love to paint them. We went to Atlanta where we had a national Disability Committee conference at Global Ministries and saw good friends. When we came back with our friend Joy, we saw small mountains in Georgia and Tennessee. I got lots of inspiration for painting and helping other people on that trip. Later, Cliff and my mom surprised me with a trip to Busch Gardens for my birthday. Seeing zebras, lions, a rhino and her baby, flamingos, white birds, giraffs and many other animals made my heart feel like it had some new beats it went so fast. I want to draw and paint more landscapes.
For fitness Sarah and then Kayla (after Sarah got married and moved to California) worked out with me at the YMCA and I learned ways to strengthen my core, and how to have better balance with Dawn at Courage Center in the pool.
